Safe with Allah

Today, sadness filled my heart after receiving the news about my mother’s aunt. She passed away this afternoon at 2:45 pm. She was very old and sick. And she spent the last month of her life in the hospital. I never had the chance to visit her when she was ill. So, last time I saw her was last year. I feel so sad and guilty for not being near her. She was a kind woman and I always called her Mom.

I wish to see her in the other life and tell her that I love her. may Allah have mercy upon her and make her soul at peace.

Eid Al Fitr (First Muslims Eid)

In this post, I would like to share with you about the Muslims Eids... Muslims have 2 Eid every year, Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha and each one has a different meaning.

Eid Al Fitr is the first Muslims Eid. It is a holiday of three days after the holy month of Ramadan where the Muslims fast for 30 days for Allah from dawn to dusk to share the feeling of hunger with the poor people and give them the money and food. After Ramadan comes Eid Al Fitr where the happines spread between all the Muslims and they start giving charity money and clothes to the poors to share the Eid happines.

Eid is an Arabic word meaning "festivity", while Fitr means "charity" and the holiday symbolizes the breaking of the fasting period which was on Ramadan.

After Few days, Eid Al Fitr will start and I am waiting to celebrate it with my family and friends ^___^ and I am really happy that I had the strength to fast Ramadan for Allah and share my feelings with the poors.

Change Your Life

While I was surfing the internet reading different topics, I read this amazing topic by Stephen Cove. And it can really change your life because it is true for sure. I would like to share it with you in my blog and I hope you like it ^__^

The 90/10 Principle
Author : Stephen Covey ( Management Guru)

Have you read this before? Discover the 90/10 Principle. It will change your life
(at least the way you react to situations). What is this principle?

10% of life is made up of what happens to you. 90% of life is decided by how you react. What does this mean?

We really have no control over 10% of what happens to us. We cannot stop the car from breaking down. The plane will be late arriving, which throws our whole schedule off. A driver may cut us off in traffic. We have no control over this 10%. The other 90% is different. You determine the other 90%.

How? By your reaction. You cannot control a red light., but you can control your reaction. Don't let people fool you; YOU can control how you react.

Let's use an example. You are eating breakfast with your family. Your
daughter knocks over a cup of coffee onto your business shirt. You have no control over what just what happened. What happens when the next will be determined by how you react. You curse. You harshly scold your daughter for
knocking the cup over.

She breaks down in tears. After scolding her, you turn to your spouse and criticize her for placing the cup too close to the edge of the table. A short verbal battle follows. You storm upstairs and change your shirt. Back downstairs, you find your daughter has been too busy crying to finish breakfast and get ready for school. She misses the bus. Your spouse must leave
immediately for work.

You rush to the car and drive your daughter to school. Because you are late, you drive 40 miles an hour in a 30 mph speed limit. After a 15-minute delay and
throwing $60 traffic fine away, you arrive at school. Your daughter runs into the building without saying goodbye. After arriving at the office 20 minutes late, you find you forgot your briefcase. Your day has started terrible. As it continues, it seems to get worse and worse. You look forward to coming home, When you arrive home, you find small wedge in your relationship with your
spouse and daughter.

Why? Because of how you reacted in the morning. Why did you have a bad day?

A) Did the coffee cause it?
B) Did your daughter cause it?
C) Did the policeman cause it?
D) Did you cause it?

The answer is " D".

You had no control over what happened with the coffee. How you reacted in those 5 seconds is what caused your bad day. Here is what could have and should have happened.

Coffee splashes over you. Your daughter is about to cry. You gently say, "It's ok honey, you just need, to be more careful next time". Grabbing a towel you rush
upstairs. After grabbing a new shirt and your briefcase, you come back down in time to look through the window and see your child getting on the bus. She turns and waves. You arrive 5 minutes early and cheerfully greet the staff. Your boss comments on how good the day you are having.

Notice the difference? Two different scenarios. Both started the same. Both
ended different.

Why? Because of how you REACTED. You really do not have any control over 10% of what happens. The other 90% was determined by your reaction.

Here are some ways to apply the 90/10 principle. If someone says something negative about you, don't be a sponge. Let the attack roll off like water on glass. You don't have to let the negative comment affect you! React properly and it will not ruin your day. A wrong reaction could result in losing a friend, being fired, getting stressed out etc.

How do you react if someone cuts you off in traffic? Do you lose your temper? Pound on the steering wheel? A friend of mine had the steering wheel fall off)
Do you curse? Does your blood pressure skyrocket? Do you try and bump them? WHO CARES if you arrive ten seconds later at work? Why let the cars ruin your drive? Remember the 90/10 principle, and do not worry about it.

You are told you lost your job. Why lose sleep and get irritated? It will work out. Use your worrying energy and time into finding another job. The plane is late; it is going to mangle your schedule for the day. Why take out your frustration on the flight attendant? She has no control over what is going on. Use your time to study, get to know the other passenger. Why get stressed out? It will just make things worse. Now you know the 90-10 principle. Apply it and you will be amazed at the results. You will lose nothing if you try it.

The 90-10 principle is incredible. Very few know and apply this principle.

The result? Millions of people are suffering from undeserved stress, trials, problems and heartache. We all must understand and apply the 90/10 principle.

It CAN change your life!!!

Doha Corniche - Qatar

Is one of the most beautiful places in Qatar where you can sit or walk with your family or friends. Also, it is a great place for photography practicing. You can see many people there specially on the weekend when the weather is cool. Some people are walking or exercising and running. Other are just setting and enjoying the view of the sea.

I remember one day, I got up early morning and left home just to capture a photo of sunrise at the Corniche and it was really beautiful experience. I will share the photo with you soon at my flickr ^__^. Sunrise is really gorgeous and charming.

It is a nice place to visit if you are coming to Qatar.
This photo was taken by me when I was there with my family on the weekend.

Thoughts in Pain…

I was laying on my bad fighting the pain in my upper back. I was staring at the ceiling silently hearing my own breath going in and out slowly… in… out… in… out. Everything was quit in my room. The pain was killing me and every time I move it hits sharply, so I decided not to move for couple of minutes.

It was 7:00 pm, I turned my head and I saw my dead grandfather picture looking at me. “Hi grandpa, how is heaven?”, I thought “Life sucks, humans are very weak”. I stare to the ceiling again and dove into my memories. The memories of my grandfather death. I felt a tear rolling on my cheek. I figured I was crying silently.

I turned my head again to the other side and I saw my beloved novel “The Sword of Truth”. I raised my hand and touched it’s cover. “I miss you” I thought. Then, I looked to my hand and how it is formed and moved. I tried to get up and the pain came harder this time. I opened my mouth to scream, but nothing came out. I fell back to my bed helpless. “ Life formula is really hard to understand” I thought before I stare back to the ceiling of my dark room.

Legend of the Seeker

Currently, I am watching a great and excellent action adventure TV show. It is Legend of the Seeker staring Bridget Regan as Kahlan Amnell, Craig Horner as Richard Cypher, and Bruce Spence as Zeddicus Zu'l Zorander. This TV series written by the great writer Terry Goodkind based on his novel The Sword of Truth.

Kahlan is young woman with a great magic power that help her get the truth form anyone so she is a Confessor. Richard is a normal wood guide who lives in the westland. That’s what he thinks before he discovers his power as a Seeker. Zed is the last wizard of the first orden. The Confessor and the wizard have to help the Seeker in his quest.

I read the novel of The Sword of Truth and it was really great and makes you thirsty for more. Currently I am reading book 3, but I started watching the series because I want to see my heroes alive ^__^ you should watch it if you are a fan of the novel, but let me tell you this “Reading the book is 100 times better than watching the series only”.

To Dubai With My Best Friend

On December 20, 2008, I traveled with my dear friend to Dubai to attend a training course. Actually, it was the first time in my life I travel without my family. It was me and her only and we were so excited.

The course was on the morning from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm for five days. So, we were attending classes on the morning and then we spent the rest of the day shopping or sight seeing.

We visited The Emarat Mall, Dubai City Center, Festival City Mall, Al Bustan Center, and finally Burjuman Mall. All of them were great but Festival City Mall was the best of all. You should visit it if you are planning to go to Dubai.

This trip was the best, specially because it was with my best friend. Also, I really enjoyed the course and I learned a lot from it. I wish to do this one more time.
